Another new piece of information on this student, author, working crazy person. I am a total Daddy's Girl. I love my Dad like a ... well... I just do. We have some of the same hobbies and we have the exact same sense of humor. My mom likes to say our brains are wired the same way. Matter of fact, we're not allowed to be on a team in Pictionary anymore. I just know what direction his brain is going and can guess off a couple squiggles.
That's not the point though. The point is my dad and I are a team... a hilarious team, but a team none the less. And one of the things I look forward to most in the week is our Sunday morning facebook chats. See, my dad is a military guy and after years of military service the guy just can not sleep in. It used to be he'd get up Sunday mornings, have his coffee, turn on golf and fall back asleep in his chair. I said he didn't sleep in, not that he didn't nap.
Well, then I started working this craptastic job and doing first shifts on Sunday and my dad got in touch with the facebook revolution. Sundays are the hardest day for me. Everything has piled up, I've gotten very little sleep the night before (because I was working), and I'm just out of it.
Now, unless it's a drill weekend and I hate those, my dad wakes up, gets his coffee, and turns on facebook. I get to work, turn on facebook and there's dad. We chat back and forth until one of us has something better to do. He makes me laugh and catches me up on all the good family stories about my nephew or the local gossip. The local gossip part is only funny because it's my dad filling me in. One time I had to stop and ask him, "How do YOU know all this?" His response, "I hear things..." with one of his funny faces....
Funny, I just had a "I see dead people moment" about my dad... LMAO. I'm laughing because in my head, the line's being said by a Forrest Gump look-a-like. Anyway, somehow a long chat with him be it serious or funny or a mix just makes my whole week seem better somehow. Amazing how dad's can do that right? Must be some amazing magical daddy talent or something. And, it helps pass the time at work until the coffee has kicked in enough for me to function sort of properly. Thanks Dad!
Anyway, that's why I say Thank God for Sundays..
except the ones where he's serving his country...
oh, okay, thank God for those ones too.

About Me
- Jennifer Feuerstein
- Being an author is an amusing series of ups and downs. As a self-published writer, there are a lot of stories going on at once. A lot of stories means a lot of characters bouncing around and a lot of juggling. It's not easy being an author of fantasy in the real world, but I try to get by.
