Hi there.
I guess starting a blog first requires the writer to explain why he or she started the blog in the first place. Seems like a simple place to start and common manners would suggest it's accurate.
My problem- well, an explanation of my reasons isn't that simple. I could try to make it simple, but you would all think I was writing from the inside of a specialized institution. Unless my boyfriend's living room counts, I'm not.
So, the history...
All the madness started when I had a free summer in 2009 and wasn't sure what to do with myself. I was working lonely third shifts at a small, struggling hotel. No one to really keep my company from 11pm to 7am but myself and the occasional drifter. The job also required only about 3 hours of work in an 8 hour shift, leaving a lot of time on my hands. When I got really good at it, it was only 2 hours of work... Five or six hours with nothing to do but read or surf the net. Joy...
Then, it hit me. Not like a ton of bricks, but with the sly, slow draw of a dashing gentleman. Or, woman in my case. This small scene kept playing through my mind every shift at about the same time. Each time, I wonder a little more about it and a little more would be revealed.
Finally, I decided to write it down. I've always been a writer, usually just of short stories or ramblings never anything as grandiose as this has become.... but I ramble. So, I started writing... and writing... and writing. I have two self-published books in the Tuatha Destiny series and am currently trying to finish the third. But that won't be the end of it. I have an ongoing, online serial The Story of Sebastian on Wattpad and I know the next series will be Children of Destiny... It never ends. In fact, more characters keep adding to the insanity in my overfull head. I think I might have to buy some extra cranial property for them.
And, yes, occasionally there are a few characters that will comment on my day to day living when it suits them. Usually when I'm too tired to keep it in check. What can I say, I've always had an overactive imagination.
I don't really expect anyone to follow my blog. If you do, well kudos and welcome to the madness. Since I'm not expecting a huge turnout... this will probably be the most honest thing I ever write.
Follow author Jennifer Feuerstein through the trials and fun of writing. I'll be discussing my books, my future plans, and the fun of dealing with an entire cast of characters living "upstairs" while moving through life. Welcome to the ramblings of The Crowded Mind.
About Me
- Jennifer Feuerstein
- Being an author is an amusing series of ups and downs. As a self-published writer, there are a lot of stories going on at once. A lot of stories means a lot of characters bouncing around and a lot of juggling. It's not easy being an author of fantasy in the real world, but I try to get by.
