There's a good reason I've earned the nickname Jester from the online communities I frequent:
1. I'm known for making everyone laugh themselves silly, even if it means making myself the butt of the joke
and
2. I do A LOT of juggling...
And I'm not talking multi-colored ball juggling or chainsaw craziness. I juggle a lot in my life. Family, friends, lover, work, school, writing. I do a lot with my time, guess you could say I'm trying to get the most out of the experience.
Really I just like to be busy. I've always entertained myself in some fashion and I like to keep my brain moving. I just can not sit and stare at a wall for hours... unless I'm tuned out. Then you will notice the odd smile that means I'm watching the movie my imagination is providing. Oh yes, there's always an in-flight movie on my little flights of fancy. *snicker*
An example? Well, sure, that's what I'm here for. Today I'm trying to wake up with my usual coffee, update all my internet pages (I've seriously lost count), update my school information (I keep all my classmates informed of what's happening on a separate Facebook page), and download software for my deskjet printer. Yes, turns out the recent fixing and upgrading of my laptop rendered my printer software disc obsolete. Of course, trying to search for software online without the required two cups of coffee.... and, well, I ended up on the French google site and didn't realize it until my third attempt at searching... go me.
While that is going on, I'm carrying on a Facebook conversation, a text message conversation, trying to figure out what to wear today... still searching for software (on the correct site now) and drinking coffee.
Now, I'm downloading and installing said software, battling my new security software the whole time, still carrying on the text message conversation, still drinking coffee, and yes, writing this blog post.
Does my work suffer? *shrug* Honestly, I don't think so but I'm sort of a biased judge. Some reason I was built with extra multi-tasking software chips upstairs and thank whoever's in charge for that! I'm able to focus fully on one task, switch to fully focus on another, and then again to another... all in five minutes. I've been told it's interesting to watch.
The only downside I've noticed is when I'm writing or thinking about writing. My brain gives completely over to the experience... including my senses. So it may take a couple times before I hear you talking to me. Just nudge me or hit me in the head with a ball of paper... something and I'll snap to.
Make sure it's important though, or I'm liable to check back into my fantasy motel and keep writing. It's pretty effective at drowning out all the stupidity I have to deal with on a regular basis. :-D
Well, my software is installed and I have a date with my editor. Another post on that coming soon...
Ciao now brown cow... (for my nephew)

Follow author Jennifer Feuerstein through the trials and fun of writing. I'll be discussing my books, my future plans, and the fun of dealing with an entire cast of characters living "upstairs" while moving through life. Welcome to the ramblings of The Crowded Mind.
About Me
- Jennifer Feuerstein
- Being an author is an amusing series of ups and downs. As a self-published writer, there are a lot of stories going on at once. A lot of stories means a lot of characters bouncing around and a lot of juggling. It's not easy being an author of fantasy in the real world, but I try to get by.
