The Conundrum

Here I sit at work again, typical of most Sunday mornings. People are talking, eating their free breakfast, bitching about their rooms.

In front of me is my laptop, to my right is my coffee, and to my left is my gigantic stack of physics quiz study question. And what do I really want? To lock myself in a quiet room, dim the lights, turn up the music and let my fingers fly.

Destiny Fulfilled is so close to completion I can see the ending word for word, but I can't get it on paper today. The risk of biting someone's head off or losing focus is too great. Endings are a serious issue for me, a book HAS to end well. There are no ifs ands or buts about it. I can forgive a few missteps in the reading of a book if it has an excellent ending. Crappy endings result in books thrown against walls and then into trash heaps or worse, the burn pile.

Writing that kind of ending takes some serious concentration and devotion. Something I don't get either of at work. And I'm not talking just happy endings, because not all endings are happy... hello, did you read my Evil Cupid tribute to Valentine's Day... the holiday of all that is hell??

Being incredibly tired doesn't help. I get knocked off topic and task too easily. Take this post. I had some brilliant point I was going to talk about, interrupted to check out a guest, and POOF gone with the wind (and hopefully the snow). Imagine that happening with a book ending... that's an author nightmare.

And author nightmares lead to public breakdowns which lead to stints in a rubber room... hahaha. I hope not, I repeat again, I'm legally sane. Just enough crazy to keep life interesting, but I'm sure all the crazy people say that too... um, moving on...

I'm really excited for a big forum party I'm having next week. All my characters will be showing up to chat and interact... WHAT? You haven't seen my forum site yet either??? Well, get registered, the fun starts next Tuesday night.

It's a great bunch of people on board, but the topics are ADULT... I prefer no minors on my forum and there are SEVERAL warnings about it. Enter at your own discretion... LOL God, that makes it sound positively sinful... it's not a pornographic site or a cyber site... there's just cursing, a lot of talk about sex, and other grown up topics. I expect people to control themselves so my site has a little more freedom than some. If you get easily offended, warning you now, you may want to avoid the chat rooms and just check out my writing pages or our other authors works...

Enough about that, back to the land of work and studying...
