For those who don't know, this writer has a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or ultrasound if you prefer that term (though not entirely accurate). Anyway, I have just finished the HR process and will start my company training Monday. I'll have two weeks of training before I'm on my own, but I am sooo freaking excited! Writing is fun and something I do to relax (hard to believe I know), but Sonography is what I am truly passionate about! I absolutely love it. I scanned for about 90 minutes during my interview and easily would have kept going. I was barely nervous and just enjoying the scantime. Since they were testing my vascular knowledge and I did not go to school for that, I should have been more nervous. But, again, I really wasn't. Not once I had the transducer in my hand and the gell on my 'patient'. I can't wait!!
It also means a better paycheck, a future career with loads of different opportunities, medical benefits, and somewhat regular hours. I'll be less stressed and better able to manage my time. Sure the 6months-a year will be a learning curve and slightly nerve-wracking, but I can do it! So, hang in there as I adjust to another little change and get it all sorted. Then I can really focus my free time on the writing. I have to obtain my OB/Gyn registry before March and my RVT within the year. They give us two years but I get a raise for every certification I get and I'd like to give myself enough of a time cushion if I don't pass it. I can also take Breast and Neurosonology...but all in due time.
So back to my to-do list. Oh and I'm reading Clockwork Prince a bit at a time. I'll post a review here when finished. :)
I'm also still waiting for cable/internet. Apparently there are some problems with the lines near our country haven and they need replaced. They're saying another week to a month and I'm limited with my mobile internet. Once that's installed, you should see me around more.
