So here I sit in my little country sanctuary, 4 hours of sleep mind you, waiting for the cable guy to show up. We finally selected our cable/internet subscriber and imagine our night owl surprise at being told they'd be here between 7am and 11am.
We tried to go to bed at a decent time, we set our alarms, and here I am. I silenced the alarm and finally dragged myself out of bed shortly after 7am. Between praying we hadn't missed the installer and wishing for coffee, the lamp bulb flashbanged in my face leaving me blind for a few minutes.
Now I have coffee, a good book, and several lights on to alert the installer. I will probably dose off in a few pages, but I should hear him no matter which door he comes to. Although I must admit it's starting to sound like a bad porno plot. Maybe he'll be good looking and nice to watch. Certainly hoping he's no Jim Carey- too many firearms around here, he wouldn't make it far. I also know how they are never on time and being told 7-11am means he'll probably be here around 3pm.
I'm just hoping it's soon so I can go back to bed...
Follow author Jennifer Feuerstein through the trials and fun of writing. I'll be discussing my books, my future plans, and the fun of dealing with an entire cast of characters living "upstairs" while moving through life. Welcome to the ramblings of The Crowded Mind.
About Me
- Jennifer Feuerstein
- Being an author is an amusing series of ups and downs. As a self-published writer, there are a lot of stories going on at once. A lot of stories means a lot of characters bouncing around and a lot of juggling. It's not easy being an author of fantasy in the real world, but I try to get by.
