About Me

Being an author is an amusing series of ups and downs. As a self-published writer, there are a lot of stories going on at once. A lot of stories means a lot of characters bouncing around and a lot of juggling. It's not easy being an author of fantasy in the real world, but I try to get by.

Cue the scary intro music...

That's right! My first official horror piece, The Flames, is going up on Digital Digest on September 9th!!
Woooo, anyone who knows me from back in the day knows I loved to write toe-curling horror. Well, I got out of it for awhile and now it's back. My horror stories are more about suspense and leaving you wondering. What can I say? Edgar Allen Poe and Alfred Hitchcock were inspirations when I was younger. As I mentioned in my previous post, I don't like horror stories to be predictable.

Each horror piece will start with a short journal entry, it's up to you - the reader - to decide how to interpret the entry. Who wrote it? How does it tie into the piece? Consider it a little something to warm up your brain before reading the story. Each piece will be a little different. Some downright evil, some dark humor, and some with urban legend elements. My goal was to make each piece believable in the "my friend's cousin's brother..." told me way, while eliminating the middle men.

I hope you enjoy them. I'm rather proud of them. I have one finished -The Flames- and two in editing phases. One I'm completely redoing and then I have four of them with notes written. All in total I want to have the magic 13 for stories, each in the 1500-2500 word range. They'll all have ambiguous titles so don't expect the title to give anything anyway. I'm wicked like that. Once completed, I'll put out an anthology for sale.

Well, time for the full time job and then back to writing tonight. :)  Later friends and fans!

Feeling better than she has in a long time,
Jennifer
